how I spent the best 15th birthday of my life...

the FESTIVITIES (a cooler word when in caps lock) started a day early when I arrived at school to receive a puppy-sized elephant--named Willy, after John's very own puppy--and delicious, crumbly, explosive sugar cookies with sprinkles. From there, it moved into my first block, where many people (especially those with a name starting with the letter D) actually remembered the next day was my birthday, without my reminding them. Then, the day slipped into second block, which wasn't anything special, but our test was easier than I thought it would be and the rest of school was fairly uneventful.

And then. JESSICA'S HOUSE. and a Starburst from Joey for my birthday gift. And blank cd's. And funny yearbook pictures. And a lovely chat with long lost Tyler, who I never talk to anymore and who is so ridiculous.

ALLISON'S HOUSE where I ate oysters, chips, brownie's, crackers with cheese, a hamburger, and pasta salad. And where we also sung Your Song very badly for an Elton John fan who has touched Elton John's shoes. Something I was amazed about. And then a whole lot more awesome, a handheld Sudoku, and a fancy pen. Apples to Apples. Beanbag chairs. Therapist (the rapist). Giovagnoli twins. Caroline's bad phone-operating abilities. Sleep (or lack of).

MY SISTER'S BOOKS where I bought books, ate (lots of) good food, read part of a book aloud, wandered around, laughed at Allison, talked about books, shelved books, read hilariously dreadful Knock-Knock jokes, did those little word puzzle things from Trif's class, met an author, at more food, ate even more food, traded in children's books for:

Familiar Heat by Mary Hood
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
Mr. Spaceman by Robert Olen Butler
About a Boy by Nick Hornby
The Memory of Running by Ron McLarty
Music Minus One by Jane Shore
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
Searching for David's Heart by Cherie Bennett

Then I came home to find 25 more dollars to devote to Disney World (ugh, I hope I can pay for it...)

Plus, facebook wishes me a happy birthday, and that's what I've been waiting for all my life. *eye roll*

Thanks to everybody in the world who is awesome. You made my birthday awesome. I love you guys. (emilea, a comment is forthcoming)

=D

This will, most likely, unless I start rambling be short and quick. I'm just excited about so many things that I have to write them down and celebrate with the WORLD!!!

AHHH!!!!!

They're home!!! They're really, really, really home! I've missed them so much. (sorry emilea if you're reading this. Let me explain: Dante and Dominic, our friends, moved to California in January and aren't coming back until the end of the school year, but they're visiting for spring break and I'm totally excited!!)

So I'm freaked about that, but I'm also 100% freaked and psyched and waiting for 2, count em TWO!! free books! Ahh!! One, is Chasing Windmills by Catherine Ryan Hyde and she's so ridiculously kind that she sending it to me for no reason, only to review it on Plenty of Paper. The other (because yes, I did say two) is I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone which doesn't even come out until July but I entered a contest to win and I'm way way way in the lead and not only is it going to be an ARC, but it will be signed, yes SIGNED by Stephanie Kuehnert, the author. I'm completely psyched!!!!

Actually, the truth is that The Grand Prize is a gift certificate to DownloadPunk AND a signed, Advanced Review Copy of IWBYJR plus swag packs including bookmarks and, most exciting, official IWBYJR guitar picks. enough swag to keep and some to pass out around town.

EEE!!!!

and I'm kind of counting down the days until the letters. I really hope mine is positive.

♥your freak of a friend Heather

(oh, yeah. Emilea, please read the poem below and comment. )

Books, books, and more...ponchkes?

I introduce you to...sufganoyit. Or rather, as I prefer to call them, Muslim Doughnuts. And, hey, ponchkes works too, I mean, that's what we called them today when we had to present...Okay, I'm kind of getting ahead of myself...

Let's start from the beginning.

"We're going to completely forget about the book. The book doesn't exist. Those stupid people that make the book don't exist. We're going to use...dun dun dun...the Internet. I want y'all to pick a religion among the world's top 8, you'll do this in partners, and research it. Research everything. I'm giving you free reign on this. Two groups can go to the library, the other four, use the computers in here. On your mark...get set...Go!"

I kid you not, those are almost her exact words. I'm talking the dun dun dun, the mark...get set...Go! and everything.

I have the best social studies teacher ever.

The only requirement, was that we make a food. This, is where the ponchkes came in. Me and my partner picked Islam, the second largest religion in the world. We researched and researched and, surprisingly, learned things. I actually learned a lot more than I had ever learned from a project. This 'free reign' stuff really does work. The book just tells you what you've heard before, maybe adding in a few people and dates you haven't. The Internet, however, that wondrous place that holds the everlasting e-bay (okay, we didn't use e-bay, but it is a mythical place of great magical power), tought us a lot.

Like, I'm sure you didn't know that it's considered rude to use your left hand at all when eating. And did you know that when dining with ones other than just your family, males and females are to be seperated? What about the fact that Muslims don't actually have to adhere to any rules in order to be a Muslim? Really, I'm being honest here. There are no beliefs that are mandatory. Well, except for that one really important one about believing in God. So, I guess that's why it's the second largest religion in the world. There are no rules. Nothing to follow. Nothing to break or bend. It is free-reign.

And I don't want to be wrong on here, so sorry if I am about anything. I'm just telling you what I know.

So, as we are learning all these things, me and Kayla go on the 'Perilous Recindex Hunt'

I'm saying it's perilous because you really never know what you're going to find. I mean, beef filled apples? Eww! and then, of course, we mistakinly looked up what schmaltz was. Ew to that too.

But finally, with a giant breath of fresh air, we clicked on the funniest name in the visible square that the computer screen offered. Sufganoyit. :D

And, thus, Muslim Doughnuts. They are essentially jelly-filled peices of fried dough. Doughnuts. Don't call them anything else. They may be special becaue they have orange extract and zest in them, but they are doughnuts.

Except, we, of course, destroyed them.

Kayla is, supposedly, a good cook. At least, she says she is. And you have to understand this, Kayla is probably one of the most humble people I know. She's definitely not one to brag. So, I believed her. I trusted in this skill to help us along, becuase, despite many attempts, I'm not a baker.

Sadly, though, the dough didn't set, and we hung around her house for four hours, varying between eating Cheez-Its, Tostitos, and graham crackers, and watching the various gameshows that we all love: Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, and that singing show...with Wayne Brady...yeah, that one. And let me tell you, I would make an awesome contestant on Wheel of Fortune, not so much Jeopardy!, not really on the singing show, and a spectacular, nobody could ever beat me, impossible to lose sontestant on AYSTAFG.

so, while we were doing all this, our project was falling into dismal failing range. ah.

And then, Kayla's mom comes home.

And she, with her amazing powers of awesome, suggests...Bisquick!

and voila, we have ourselves some instant, two-minute dough, whereas the other stuff took nearly four hours. Yeah, way to go people who made the terrible recipe that DOESN'T WORK!

UGH!

Apparently, though, we're going to sue them, so it all turns out fine.

But, we do that, then, then we get to the deep-frying. DANGER ZONE! FLASHING RED LIGHTS AND ALARMS SCREAMING! DANGER, DANGER, DANGER!

We(and by this I mean Kayla) burn the oil and have to evacuate the house for a full two minutes because we cant even breathe. but, after that, all goes smoothly. And now, it's Larkin's favorite food and he ordered us to make more. He actually begged us. And he's not the only one that liked them. Everyone in the class said they were the best food among the six projects. Good sign I guess. haha.

So, that's the story of the ponchkes.

Now for the books.

A couple of weeks ago, my mom asked me to make a list of the books I wanted because I got my new bookshelf and have plenty of room and she's kind of been denying me the nourishment I need from those wonderaculous things known as books. (yes, caroline, I stole your word. Now and forever.)

And so it begins.

You see, I already had about 30 or so books in mind. I wrote those down instantly. But then, I abandoned my task for a week and a half, nearly forgetting I was to be writing it. But, you can never forget books for too long. :D

Soon, I was typing away, 90 wpm, a very long list of books. You see, I happen upon books I want a lot--I read reviews for them, have them recommended, see them floating around the school (not as likely seeing as the top five favorite books in Waccamaw on facebook are such that say how the person doesn't like to read or should read more). And other times, when the happening isn't happening, I spend hours perusing amazon and BAM and many other sources. That even includes myspace. And sometimes, I'll happen upon a book, or find it in my perusing, and forget what it's called. And, in my search for the title, I'll stumble upon (see how I changed it up there? DO YOU? I used 'stumble' instead of 'happen'. Did you see that?) other awesome titles.

So far, just doing this in my very limited spare time, my list has increased greatly to 91 books. 91!

that's a lot of paper. And it's subject to change all the time, and a few of them might come into my possession soon, and I haven't added six of them because there is that great possiblility that I will (definitely hopefully want to so bad) win that contest for the page flipper. Then, and if, I'll get 6 brand new books! Wow. I really, really want to win that contest.

So, I'm asking for help (because my goal is 200+). Any recommendations?

realizing exactly how long this post ended up, thinking about that one book I was just looking at, going to crawl in bed with the first free time I've had in about a week and read Maximum Ride (so excited I got it. It's pure wonderaculous-ness),

(oh, p.s. If possible, a poem on monday. And that's a big if, seeing as the homework hasn't reduced...)

Attack of the brooms!

So you know when something takes you by surprise and you're caught completely off guard. All you can think is Wha-huh? wtf. what just happened? did I hear what I thought I did? Question Mark!!!!

Or: Who is this person that has taken over Zac's life? Really. This creep has invaded him and started making him do things. bad things. and good. and...weird. hmm... I'd like to find out who this person is that saying that him and his girlfriend should make babies, but he'll make sure to wear a condom...?

Yeah. My thoughts exactly.

Since when does Zac write????????

You see, sitting in Mrs. Vereen's class (being completely scared to the point of hiding under my desk because she's giving me the eye not only for talking, but for reading, too, by the way) Zac says he wrote something. A story. Possibly a book/novel. Possibly. Hmmm....weird. Zac just got hooked on phonics (by me!) and now he's writing?

That's like someone taking a broom upside your head when you expect them to be spitting a watermelon seed at you or something. I expected the watermelon seed to be a inscription for the blank pages at the back of Caroline's book. It turned out it wasn't that little watermelon seed at all. It was the big heavy broom.

And I'm not talking Swiffer. I'm talking big, heavy, thick wood with really bristly bristles on the end that stab at you until you want to rip your hair out. I'm not just getting attacked by the handle of the broom. I'm getting attacked by the straw on the end, too.

And this mysterious (oooooo) form that's taking over Zac is the one doing the swatting.

huh.

okay, moving on:

I've decided to completely rip off every author in the world.

;D

I'm doing a VIEWER'S CHOICE BLOG!

haha. No, I'm not ripping off Libba Bray. Not. At. All.

It's a tad different. Just like mustache-boy is a "tad" creepy. :D

I've decided to do a weekly... umm... day? I can't think of the word I was planning on using there so I'll go with day even though it doesn't even mean the same thing I meant to mean when I meant to use that word that means something different than that means.

OPTIONS: (Vote on which one you want. You can pick up to two, because I'm nice and I feel the pain of those indecisive people. I'm one myself. to the extreme)
Starting with my favorites:

1) Funny Photo Friday(and no, I didn't mean for it to be alliterate): I post an obscured picture and you have to guess what it is. Or just a really funny picture.
2)Video Thursday: I find a video on youtube or make on and post it (that is, If I can figure out how to work that...)
3)Poem Saturday: if you don't know what that is, wow. It's pretty self-explanatory, but...I'll explain anyway. I write a poem. I post it. The end.
4)Quote Teusday: also self-explanatory. I find a quote. Post it.
5)Song Friday: If I can, I'll add a song on here that I feel fits my week/mood. Or if I can't do that, I'll just title the post after a song and put my favorite part of the lyrics at the end.
6)Fact Friday(that one was meant to be alliterate): Five interesting facts of the week or whatever
7)Manic Monday(alliteration. ahh): Three craziest things to happen all week.
8)Other

Okay, cast your votes.
For other, give me an idea. I dont' post regularly enough, or I post too much so this might steady things...

Or just make me look like a crazy geek that reads too many books which doesn't even have to do with this but I though I might throw that in and now I'm rambling and that's not good because I'll keep doing it until someone stops me or I run out of ways to keep the uber long sentence going which I'm about to do because I don't have anything else to say. *inhale*

keeping promises

Ok, so I'm kind of fearing for my life right now. But I'll explain that later, first:

Does anyone here need a bookshelf? Honestly. Anyone? If you do, come to my house. I'm giving one away. You wanna know why?

Do ya?

doyadoyadoya??

Because I got a brand spankin' new one, that's why!!!

And it's purty. It's big and large and tall and big and enormous and wide and big and pretty and big and brown and big and big and big and big!

It has 6, nice, long shelves.(It's six feet tall!) It covers, like, half of my wall (and this is a pretty big wall.) But this is where the fearing for my life comes in. You see, I've mentioned it's big, haven't I? Well, it is. And, standing next to it, I feel intimidated. Small. A minuscule amount in this big wide universe of ours. I feel like it's going to collapse on top of me at any second and I will be crushed and trapped and won't come out for years (but I'll have plenty to read). I think, I might make a game out of it. "How Long Until You're Crushed??" Great game, right? And once I do get crushed, another game: "Can You Spare Your Oxygen?" You see, these are question games. Games to be played when you think you already have an answer. These are games like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" except, better, of course.

But these games have something regular games don't. They involve books. They involve the actual intelligence it takes to read. I mean, come on, anyone can answer questions like "Who won the Superbowl in 1982?" or "What is the scientific name for a panda bear?" and, I kid you not, these are actual questions on the computer version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"

But it takes someone real special to be able to *gasp!* read.

I'm telling you, I could make millions with this game. Billions, in fact.

Wanna play??

But, moving on to something that won't make you feel bad for your lack of creative skills in coming up with amazing games, oysters are slimy and disgusting and gross. The only ones I like are the little, itty bitty ones. I mean, this kid Jaimie was like slurping them up and chewing them and it was absolutely...vomit-inducing.

Well that and his ridukulus southern accent. "Ya seeee, we gots these bigol' ersters an' Ah lurv ta jus' slurp emup. ther reely guhd. ya don' geddem like that her"

I swear, he said that. And, I beg to differ. Our oysters are big, and salty, and the best in South Carolina (or so I hear, seeing as I don't actually eat them) I mean, HELLO, it is the seafood capital of SC and oysters are seafood. But, hey, go ahead believing what you want "Jaimie"

Big, fat, skinny hick. :D

And he had a Zac mustache. You know, one of those little fuzzy ones that are just visible on their pale skin? The ones that look so ridiculous on some people? People like Zac? or Jaimie? (and, yes, they would look ridiculous on your sister, but that's not who I'm talking about)

You know what I mean, SWANGIRL??

I had to do it. I had to refer to you/her anonymously.

But I hope this post was up to your standards, caroline. I really do. I hope it was worth the false hope that I gave you, just like the fireworks show in Epcot has false endings (LIKE 10!!!!)

humming accio deathly hallows, transferring books to my new bookshelf, nodding to the music inside my head,

the more I previously mentioned

Ok, caroline, sorry it wasn't the same day, the computer was comandeered (sp? it does NOT look right)

That was the best concert I've ever been to. Of course, I've never been to any other concert before, but I'm sure if I had, that would have been the best concert I've ever been to. Because you guys were there and because it was amazing and because I was introduced to the amazing-ness that is Love and Theft and because it was Taylor Swift and because of the hilarious pictures we took afterwards.

It was great.

So is amazon.

I compiled a list of 12 new and used books on amazon and it's going to cost $25.88 for the whole lot plus the per-shipment charge of $3.00. I hope my mom lets me get them. I've been wanting to read some of these books forever. I hope my mom is very, very nice and lets me get them.

I'm planning on going out and looking for a job this weekend. Yes, I know it's Sunday, but I'm counting this weekend until Tuesday because we don't have school until Wednesday.

Long weekends are great when you have something to do. Like Williams party. I have to go. Courtney has to go. You go on and go to T.G.I.F.'s with John( so mean >:( ugh!) and Chloe. Go and eat the amazing chocolate peanut butter pie that you will regret for 3 days, then realize how amazing it was and it's not like you can't excersise to burn off the 1,000 calories you consumed while eating it and so you'll go for a run, or maybe even a bike ride, end up at starbucks and consume another 100 calories by getting the sugariest drink they have, then decide that didn't help get rid of the other calories you are filled with so you'll go home feeling all happy but fat at the same time.

Have fun! :D

But I'll be busy dancing to Avince and partying with Courtney and since it's Williams party, you know there will be awkward (sqwakward, wait, that looks so weird, how do you spell it, emilea?) moments but all in all it will be fun. And I won't be gaining any unnessecary weight. Haha.

mwahahaha.

ha.

haha.

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

:D

The Host is so good. Or, at least, the first chapter. It was great. You should read it. And I should buy it. Too bad it doesn't come out until May 6. :( But Chosen comes out in...hold on...1, 2, 3...17 days! (I think) And then just 20 more until City of Ashes. Yay!

Yes, I wrote a substantial post!! Yay!

but I also have a poem. I actually have two that I want to put on here but I'm only gonna do one for today. This is gonna be a long post if I use one of them (it's a long poem) so I'm gonna use the other (I kind of like it better anyway)

solid waiting as the
hands tick--thump--by
those year long
minutes
that turn to seconds
and back again (not
slow or fast
or in-between, but all
of the above as the
hands thump(pound) by)
and other than the
clock counting the time,
rythmic beating, the only
sound
is none and all
that fill that none: the
bird, the wind whipping leaves
against windows, the
slight humming of the heat
/air conditioner
as the hands pound--tick--by
and I'm left
waiting

Heather is SUPER DUPER excited (and a little afraid...)

WE HAVE READERS!!!! EEEK!!!!!! I knew that commenting on Maureen Johnson blog would pay off!!! I'm so excited I can't type right now. I think I've just hit the backspace button more than any other key on the keyboard (possibly excluding e and a). EEK!!! that's so amazing. And readers leads to discussion, which leads to being well-known, which leads to interviews/advanced readers copies! EEK!! I don't think I can say that enough! EEK!

so clearly, you know what I'm excited about, but not the thing that has to do with that little nagging fear that bites at you like a mosquito. Okay, so it's not that serious. I'm talking about being afraid of getting the flu (well that's serious) and the amount of poetry. I wrote 7. SEVEN in the last 24 hours. 6 last night, 1 this morning on the bus. I'm only going to post two, the one I wrote this morning (and that Caroline has read...) and one from last night that I'm not so sure if I like. Maybe I do like it. Maybe I don't. I think by putting it on here, it will make me like it, lol.

Here goes:

Do you know where I live?
Where my heart is?
of course not, you couldn't.
I don't think you live there with me, with
us, our home. it's those
piles of print telling their story(our
story)--my story--of
fortunes and failures and
falling in love.
it's where my heart is.
is yours? is it with those
people I hold so near? with the
tales and treasures and
talking of love?
it should be. we live
together in bungalows and buildings and
barracks with love.
Do you know where I live?
Where my heart is?

the paint strokes across the canvas
gentle—and rough—thick and thin
melting the canvas into something
it isn’t, something that lies beneath:
a lush meadow

the heavy pencil scratches
the paper, leaving it’s mark behind
more scratches make eyes, a
mouth, a beautiful woman

the notes float across the
silence, as the brush and the pencil
do (as your words do) forming
something new, a masterpiece of
beauty and grace

it’s larger, more intricate than
that of the canvas and
paper. it covers the silence, swaying,
pounding, loving.

the beautiful woman dances
in the meadow

all right. what do you think of the first one? I think I'm leaning towards liking it. This obscene amount of poetry has to stop(okay, it doesn't have to stop, it's not bad. It just has to start scaring me less).
♥Heather

(I hope all is well with you and yours and if it is not, it is my sincere desire that things get better for you. I hope you are having a spectacular day, a Thrilling Thursday. Our tentative plan for today is...)

not so snowy snow day

It is not a happy snow day!

We don't get snow here. Ever. It's like the stupid clouds are torturing us with the prospect, then pull it out from under out feet, only giving us showers of "cold" rain. The weathermen are on the clouds' side. The tell us that it's coming. They say, "60% chance of sleet, possibly forming snow..." or whatever they say in their stupid 'Weather People' lingo. Their stupid LYING 'Weather People' lingo.

ugh. My sister spent hours last night playing in the snow. She's in Columbia at college, and, typically, they got snow. She caught flakes on her tongue and built a pathetic attempt at a snowman- however pathetic, it was still there- and then made her way to dance class. When she came out, there was still snow. I hate her. I hate the stupid weather channel.

I want snow.

Now!

I am, particularly happy at something else falling down on me. A landslide of books. It's raining books. No, snowing them (that's only fitting).

"Have you read The Truth About Forever?"
"No, not yet. I want to."
"Okay, I have it in my car."
"I want it!"

Five minutes later.

"Here." She hands me The Truth About Forever.
"Thanks. You are AWESOME!"

"Oh, and here's Someone Like You- it's got something gross on it though- and then this book. It's just really good, nothing Sarah Dessen about it."
"Eww. That is gross. Ha. Of course, if it wasn't good you wouldn't have it."
"Of course."

She walks away leaving yet another pile of books on my bed. I love her. She's so great. She just has this mountainous pile of books that I haven't read hidden in her car, her 'cubby', her locker, her room, her dresser, everywhere.

Props to Jess.

So now I have...let me count it...seven more books to read. I finished Keeping the Moon. Love it. Love Norman. Love Sarah Dessen.

Seven books. That is perfection. That is heaven. And now, I feel like I deserve to be reviewing books. I was somewhat skeptical before, but now. Now, I feel I deserve it. Now I'm worthy.

Since it is now 2 minutes past deadline, I guess I'll just crawl into bed with the next one, turn up my cd player or mp3 player, and open it (smelling it first of course). I'll just spend the next day diminishing the stacks and stacks. I'll spend the day after building a new bookshelf. I'll spend the day after that rearranging my room. The next day, then, I might come out. I might do something. That is, if no one bails. That is, if we actually go through with our plans for once. That is, if I feel like leaving the fictional world I've become so accustomed to and joining in on the 'real world' that I'm not sure I like nearly as much. If I do that- or even if I don't- the next day, I'll go back to school.

I'll start fresh.

New teachers, new classes, new lunch. I'll start fresh like I've been dreading the last few weeks. I'll leave behind three classes I hate and one I love and join ones that I'll probably feel the same way about. Maybe even worse.

I'll miss friends and find new ones. I'll push for a tennis match and the Harry Potter Party. I'll push for those just to keep in touch. I'll try hard to keep in touch.

With you, it's different. Class or no class, lunch or no lunch, we'll of course keep in touch. Especially as your birthday is less than 6 days away. We'll always be there.

That's a good thought.

Just like the books.

sitting here wondering if it will be the same,
thinking back to all that paper, bound and organized,
leaving you now to join those that don't exist,
♥Heather

Something's growing under that wing
I think a face is dawning
Oh no the books are growing faces

dedicated to you

dedicated to you who have once fallen in love with a fictional character. you who have more than once fallen in love with a fictional character. you who loves books and calls dibs on fictional characters for fun and whines when you forgot someone and somebody else took them.

here's to you:

heart pounding
breaking my ribs-shattering them
palms sweating
typical teenage love as they would say

no-it's more than that
something special
expanses of ocean
where we would float
the never-ending circles we'd make

my hand in your hair
red, brown, blonde, black
ever-changing
never need be the same

it's you, it's just you, always you
with seperate personalities
you're the same
always

I read your face
eyes
the illuminating smiles
I take it all in, loving every bit

I feel a tingle in my toes
a ripple in my blood
the flap of soft wings in my stomach

it's uncomfortably comfortable
as my mind
it wanders free
always coming back to you
never anyone else

minutes tick by
seconds to the words
jumbled on the page
spelling out your name

the letters come in waves
hitting against the ragged rocks
washing them, polishing them down
to soft gentle edges
smooth as glass

and ready to shatter
if one foul swell
should come to pass
should dare to touch me

breaking you down
erasing the beautiful existence
taking away a part
a part of me
a part they wrote into my heart

~♥~

It's amazing how, once you start writing poetry, you can't stop. You can't stop it. It's like the first brings on an entire river of words.

I've never written this much poetry. Ever. I think I've written more poems in the last few months than I have my entire life.

please comment. tell me how you like it. It is, after all, dedicated to you.

Sitting alone thinking about it all over coffee

There are so many thoughts racing through my mind right now. Jumbled up together in a giant mess of words and images.

So many things on my mind worrying me, exciting me. So many different responses to them all.

I need something to do to help me concentrate. Something to help me sort out all my thoughts into a steady streamline of sensicle babble instead of nonsensicle babble.

I wish I had a horse to groom or ride. Good music would help if it weren't for the fact I'd get so caught up in it that I would stop thinking about what I needed to.

I can't wait for the Taylor Swift concert on the 15th. I haven't gotten the tickets yet, I can't get ahold of Courtney, you're still gone, Caroline, and I can't get them on my own right now.

I hope Danielle and Chloe can go. I hope that I don't have anything to do for track on that day. That thought hadn't actually occured to me until just now. It's joining the others scrambling around in my head.

TWO WEEKS!! god, that's an awful thought. I know I said I was almost done, but since then, I haven't done anything. I haven't finished my portfolio. I'm completely stressing about getting in. I've been staring at the chapter I'm sending in for the last few days and I keep changing my mind about it. I don't want to change it. I do. I don't. I don't know. I probably shouldn't. It was my first instinct and you should always go with your first instinct...Ok, whatever. I'll put that aside and worry about something else.

I also keep drifting through the sea paper otherwise known as my bookshelf. I cleaned it out yesterday and I still don't have enough room for all my books. And I'm getting more. That's one of the things I've been thinking about. The Sweet Far Thing and how much I want it and how Walmart didn't have it and I haven't been able to go to Books-A-Million or Barnes and Noble to get it. Also thinking about Chosen, the third in the series I just read that's not coming out until March. Thinking about how I need it right now because the last one was just so devastatingly good and left the end open with something awfully and amazing and heart-wrenching and pure magic.

I need more books, but I don't have room for anymore.

This is fitting to be talking about because I am currently listening to Plenty of Paper by Eisley. It's an amazing song about a bookworm. I love it.

I think writing this helped me sort some things out.

Erik Night. god, vampires are cool...

Reading yet another vampire book. Or, to spell it like the book does, a vampyre book.

And there is, yet another, really, amazingly, heart-breakingly hot vampire.

And I am, yet again, falling in love with a fictional character. Sigh, I'm so pathetic.

His name is Erik Night.

So far he's not quite up to Edward Cullen standards (first off, he's had oral sex) but he's pretty damn amazing. And, of course, Zoey--the heroin--is in love with him. Already. After knowing him for all of about 2 seconds. And he stares at her. A lot. And even though she's different than most fledgeling vamps(yes they do say vamps excessively in the book) he doesn't gawk at her. He actually looks at her.

And I love all of her new friends. Especially Damien. Damien is awesome. And hilarious. And smart. And uses big words. I'm in love with him, too. Unfortunately, even if he was real, he'd never, ever, ever love me. If you read the book you'll know why.

And Zoey is really curious and afraid to say things in fear of offending the vampires which is funny because Bella is like that. And I love the descriptions. They're open-ended and allow more imagination. I love that.

But I'm sitting here, taking a break from reading the book, and still thinking about it. That's a sign of an amazing book. A good sign.

Read it.

It's called Marked.

It's part of a series and the second is already out, titled Betrayed, and the third is coming out soon.

I can't wait to finish this one and get to the next.

Vampires rule!
